Set in the 1840s , Gary Cooper plays an Army Captain who leads an expedition to destroy a fort that is being used to supply guns to the Seminoles. The American army has Creek scouts and Captain Wyatt, played by Cooper, had been married to a Creek Indian.

   Future President Zachary Taylor is a character in the movie who was the leader of the American troops in Florida.

   There were a couple of good fight scenes and the shots of the Everglade were great. The plot was pretty weak and the romance was really contrived and out of place.
