   The third film in the Samurai trilogy from director Hiroshi Inagaki loosely based on the life of famous Japanese swordsman Musashi Miyamoto. Starring Toshiro Mifune as Takezo, who is asked by the Shogun to come be a vassal, but Takezo is content to raise vegetables.

   Takezo is challenged to a duel by Sasaki Kojiro, another famous swordsman, and agrees to meet him in a years time. In the meantime he helps the villagers fight off a group of robbers, and straightens out some of the romantic relationships he had his life.

   The movie end with the famous duel on the beach as Miyamoto moves from being famous, in to the realm of being a legend.
